Fundraising Audit & Training - Surrey Wildlife Trust newly appointed CEO, Sarah-Jane Chimbwandira commissioned us to undertake an organisation wide fundraising assessment, to help give her a view of where the potential gaps were in the organisation’s approach to income generation. The audit was presented back to the trustees and has given Sarah-Jane confidence at what has been an important transition time for her and the charity. We continue to support senior management and the income generation team with training that aims to develop a business development culture across the organisation.
Fundraising Audit, Training, Business Planning, Case for Support & Bid Writing - We helped to create a compelling case-for-support, while simultaneously taking the senior team through a facilitated process to develop a three year business plan, which enabled this small Birmingham based drug and alcohol recovery organisation to gain a four year partnership with the Lottery. This funding that we secured for Kikit was a four year grant from the National Lottery and was to the value of £493,000. We continue to provide support for the whole team at Kikit with mentoring and training.
Corporate Fundraising & Trading Strategy - TFA provided Parkinson’s UK with support for their Corporate Fundraising team and a full review of their Trading operation. We helped develop a new corporate fundraising strategy and then supported the team with delivery. This also included the provision of training and recruitment of a new experienced team member. Following on from our work with the corporate team we supported the Trading team with a full audit of their trading function and provided clear recommendations with regards to a future tailored retail offer for their supporters. Working on both areas also allowed both teams to work together more and look for opportunities with new and existing partners.
Income Generation & Corporate Fundraising - Astriid approached us as they were keen to understand the best way to work with Salesforce. Wanting to ensure that they provided the best range of fundraising and volunteering activities to engage Salesforce employees and raise awareness about the impact of their work with the resources they had available was key. We helped them launch and manage this process, which resulted in them raising more than £70k in their first year. They are continuing to work with Salesforce and are developing virtual ways that can still engage the staff during the current COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
Fundraising Search & Recruitment - Recruitment is never easy and finding the right talent who can hit the ground running, fit into the team and has the required skills, is absolutely key. The TFA Search did this for five roles at Comic Relief and being a search team that is made up of senior individuals who have worked at every level of fundraising and communications, on national TV Fundraising Campaigns and has an extensive network of strong candidates, only allowed the selection process for Comic Relief, to be more tailored. In addition, pre and post placement training and mentoring, only added to the onboarding process. TFA provided Comic Relief with a Head of Philanthropy, Partnerships Manager, Fundraising Executive, Grants Manager and Commercial Manager.
Theory of Change, Training & Fundraising Delivery - One of the great things about working with The Advocacy Project was the ability for us to really demonstrate the extent of what we can provide to a not-for-profit organisation in a tailored way. Starting with an analysis of how they could diversify their fundraising we went on to secure more income from Trust & Foundations and corporate relationships with organisation such as Legal & General and BLM Law. Following on from this pieces of work we supported their Senior Management team develop a clear and concise Theory of Change and provision of soft skills and technical training for members of staff.
Statutory Bid Writing & Mentoring Support - Carers FIRST approached us to support with the application of one of their main statutory bids. This very important process involved engaging the internal team, facilitating a fact finding day to secure all the relevant information to making the bid as compelling and strong as possible was all part of the process. Ongoing we are mentoring their bid writing team.
Digital Fundraising, Copywriting & Website Development - Covid-19 brought about many initiatives, but one that we were asked to support and turnaround in a week was Feed the Frontline. At the height of the pandemic, this campaign was providing frontline healthcare professionals with fresh fruit and veg, what they were craving for, directly to hospitals. After a conversation at the start of the week, we developed the narrative, copy for the supporter engagement channels and built the website donation platform. To date the campaign has raised in excess of £160k and provided thousands of parcels of fresh food to healthcare professionals in hospitals across London, Birmingham and Leeds.
Digital, Website Build & Employee Engagement - MUFG came to us with the challenge of wanting to engage all our EMEA offices, raise money for their chosen charity and have something for everyone to take part in. They know that their teams were competitive and a challenge would work well. We built the Fitprints for Good website and campaign messaging, which asked all colleagues to cover the distance from Johannesburg to London, 28,000 kilometers. Colleagues in their own time clocked up cycling running, walking and swimming miles!
Corporate Fundraising Strategy, Recruitment & Training - Diversifying fundraising income was a key part of St Elizabeth Hospice’s (SEH) fundraising strategy. After a review it was highlighted that corporate fundraising was a great opportunity and area for growth. We worked with SEH from the start to implement growth. From working with them to put together the right strategy, develop a clear narrative and engaging range of fundraising products to supporting the recruitment process and development of bespoke training programmes. With TFA’s support, SEH have subsequently gone from strength to strength, winning new partnerships, launching a new corporate event, Ridefest and the confidence to really maximise the corporate opportunities in their area.
Fundraising Audit & Income Generation Strategy - We worked directly with the Growing Against Violence trustees and management team to undertake a fundraising audit, so that the senior team could collectively be part of understanding the strengths and weaknesses the whole organisation had in regard its ability to develop a sustainable income. The audit provided this London based charity with a blueprint of how to restructure the whole organisation in order to be more financially sustainable.
Fundraising Audit & Income Generation - The trustees at Paul’s Cancer Support (PCS) were keen to not overstretch the fundraising team, but at the same time needed to put into place realistic income targets for the following years. We were asked initially to come in and conducts a thorough fundraising and communications audit. Following on from the audit it was quickly highlighted where the opportunities existed. Since the audit we have raised in excess of £150k from them for a variety of projects from a variety of Trusts and Foundations.
Fundraising Audit, Governance & Income Generation - supported Small Steps, to understand the best governance model for a new, not-for-profit based organisation. In addition to establishing the best governance model our work has also included developing a Theory of Change for one of their core programmes, including implications of how to monitor and evaluate this more effectively. We continue to provide support through bid applications (£70k of funding secured to date), mentoring and training.
Fundraising Audit, Income Generation Strategy & Bid Writing - directly with the London Tigers senior team, we have provided strategic advice on the the future direction of the charity, while helping to build an ongoing pipeline of income generation that can help them navigate the increased stresses caused to the organisation by Covid-19. On an ongoing basis we have also provided regular support with the submission of regular bids to a variety of relevant Trust and Foundations.
